Belgium team reaches AWAI Final 2016

The Belgium team “Fly Fishing Forever”, which consists of Albert Bigaré, Tony Perin, Alec Vanrijkel, Geert Janssens, Patrick De Schutter and Guido Vinck (picture), has qualified itself on the 3rd and 4th of May for the European AWAI-final.

The Anglian Water Airflo International final is the most prestigious reservoir fly-fishing competition, one which is fished from drifting boats. Every year a few hundred teams from all over Europe take part in the selection competitions. It was “buzzer time” on the 1300 hectare large Rutland Water in the UK, which meant impressive sport with large trout. On both days the team managed to win over the other teams and now they have the right to fish for Belgium on the 4th and 5th of October amongst 23 other top-teams from Europe for the top-prize, the Anglian Water Airflo International.

Rutland Water will be the location for the final, the Belgium team has explored the competition water therefore already. The team is sponsored by G.Loomis-Shimano and P & O.
