The Traun River Pro-Wader, from Rudi Heger’s firm Traun River Products in the south of Germany, is completely designed in Bavaria. It already has had some excellent reports in two German fly-fishing magazines.
You can wear the pair of waders chest high or work it easily down as a wading pair of trousers.The shoulder straps can be removed and are adjustable.
The zippers on the chest pocket will hold off most of the water when you go to deep. Underneath is a hand warmer pocket with fleece lining.
There is a second pocket on the inside with a regular zipper. There is a strap with which the top of the waders can be pulled tight against your body.
An elastic, adjustable belt is included with the waders.Neat work: four layers are used for the top of the Pro-waders, it is breathable and waterproof. From the knees down eight layers are used for extra protection and durability!
Gravel guards are integrated into the waders, the black material on the inside protects the garment against abrasion when walking.Do not forget to dry the inside of the gravel guards after use. The anatomicly formed, neoprene feet are made of 4 mm material.
During a recent week in Sweden I have made good use of the waders. They were easy to get in and out of and on warm days the breathable garment was a big plus compared with neoprene waders. The waders are light and very comfortable to wear.
With my length of 1,90 meter, the L size was a good choice. Getting down on my knees to land a fish was easy, the material was not too tight at all.
All seams are secured twice, the pair of waders have an excellent fit. The neoprene feet have an Hypalon sole, while the waders are made of 100% nylon on the outside and 100% polyester on the inside.
