KastKing moves into fly-fishing sector

New York company KastKing has announced its entry into the fly fishing market at ICAST. The company gatecrashed last year’s ICAST New Product Awards by being named winner of the best tackle management category.

Attending the show for only the second time, the ‘new brand on the block’ won the majority of dealer and media votes for its innovative Rack ‘Em Up rod rack.

Now the rapidly-expanding Long Island business is back with a range of interesting additions to its fishing tackle line-up for 2017, including its first fly tackle. The range is fronted by two reels – the Katmai and the Kobuk – and four fly rods. Both large arbor models have built-to-last aluminium spools, cold forged aluminium alloy frames and corrosion-proof components. The Katmai, named after Alaska’s national park, also has an o-ring sealed drag to repel water and sand. Rod specifications will be revealed during the show.

“We realise there are many people who want to get started in fly fishing but don’t want to be hampered by inferior tackle or hefty prices,” said Marketing Director Tom Gahan. “As with other KastKing products, the emphasis is on quality and affordability. We will also have fly lines available soon.”

Other products set to catch the eye of visitors to the company’s booth at the show will be a selection of unique dry storage bags designed for kayaking and a variety of other uses.
Made from 500D PVC material with welded seams and reinforced stress points, the duffle-style bags also have a double sealed roll top design to make the bags submersion proof. KastKing, a division of Eposeidon Outdoor Adventures, has also created dry storage bags for cell phones and other small objects.

Eposeidon’s KastKing and MadBite brands have entered more than 40 products in 14 categories of the New Product Showcase.
