New Orvis Pliers with aircraft-grade aluminum and Type III anodizing

The Orvis Pliers are made in USA, in the same hightech machine shop as their new Mirage reel and Orvis Nippers. The spring-loaded pliers offer a special ergonomic shape that allows for a more comfortable wrist position and a wider arc for removing a hook with a quick flip of the wrist. (Handling time on released fish is critical, and the quicker a hook can be removed, the greater chance a fish has of surviving).

The jaws are precision machined and fitted for a perfect fit, and offer a serrated area for heavy gripping and a flat area for removing smaller flies without damage and for gripping monofilament without scoring it.

The replaceable cutters are made from Crucible CPM SVN35 Stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance and edge retention. They will cut anything from 6-pound monofilament to 80-pound wire.

The pliers are machined from aircraft-grade aluminum and have Type III anodizing, the same type of corrosion resistance used on high-wear aerospace parts, firearms, and the finest fly reels.

The Orvis Precision Pliers come with a custom US-made leather sheath and coil lanyard. They come in Pewter color and retail for $189. They can be found on Orvis’ website and at Orvis Retail Stores and authorized Orvis tackle dealers.
