The 36th FIPS-Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship will be hosted in one of the greatest fly fishing watersheds in the United States. Headquartering in the uber mountain town of Vail, Colorado, in Eagle County, USA. The America Cup, Inc. and the Town of Vail have joined together to host a championship of a lifetime.
“As the US international organizer, for 36th FIPS Mouche World Fly Fishing Championship 2016, it is my mission to showcase the beauty of the US, Colorado, Vail, and our watershed rivers and lakes, while providing an exceptional fly fishing event to our international attendees.
Participants will be led along Gore Creek through Lionshead Village to the Vail Marriott for opening ceremonies and welcome speeches. Medal presentations will be in Vail Village with winning nation’s anthems played and flags raised in true Olympic spirit.
Lodging will at the Evergreen Lodge and daily meals will be prepared by a variety of chefs. The practice and competition venues will be the rivers and lakes of the Rocky Mountain high country. With elevations ranging from 7,000′ to 10,000′, the competitors will fish along the Colorado River, Blue River, Eagle River, Sylvan Lake, and Dillon Reservoir. All these venues will showcase the diversity of Colorado waters and the beauty of the United States.
Spectacular Canyon Country offering not only outstanding fishing, but also an unforgettable setting. The only thing that rivals the beauty of these vistas are the trout you will encounter.
