Due to increased demand for sponsor and exhibitor space, the 2017 Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival will double in size. This expansion will allow the show organisers to have more instructional space and also to move the kayak demo pond and participating wineries inside.

Virginia Fly Fishing & Wine Festival Director Beau Beasley will be the Master of Ceremonies at the First Annual Hall of Fame Induction of the Fly Fishing Museum of the Southern Appalachians on September 24, 2016, in Bryson City, North Carolina. The museum will induct TFO pro-staffer Wanda Taylor, acclaimed outdoor writer Jim Casada, noted conservationist Phil Braceway, and Virginia’s very own Walt Cary.

Famed for his superb handmade cork popping bugs, Cary becomes the first Virginian inducted into the museum. Cary began making poppers more than 50 years ago and did extensive research on them in Virginia’s Back Bay. He is a longtime featured speaker and presenter at our festival, and we are pleased that he has been singled out for his commitment to crafting his excellent patterns.

Walt's Poppers are among the best bass bugs in the nation.
