A few sought after fly fishing slots have now become available at Alphonse Island within the next few weeks. Additionally, Astove Atoll has limited availability within the first couple of weeks of the new season starting 7 November 2016.
Cosmoledo Liveaboard finally now has a few rods available for the first week in December, but we urge you to be quick as these are sure to be snapped up in no time!
Mid-October to November is prime fishing time around the three fly fishing destinations of Alphonse Fishing Company, with record catches having been recorded in previous years. This period usually signifies the end of the South Easterly Trade Winds and usher in a period of tranquil oceans and great visibility – perfect for sight fishing! – before the start of the North Westerly Trade Winds. The March / April period is also perfect for the opposite reason: the end of the North Westerly Trade Winds signifying a calm period before the start of the South Easterly Trade Winds.
