The American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) gave away $25,000 in grants to fisheries conservation and education projects last year.

The money from its Fisheries Fund – along with $6,780 in donations from members and the public – helped seven organisations with their work. They were:
Deschutes River Alliance ($5,000)
Snake River Waterkeeper ($7,500)
Friends of Fletcher’s Cove ($2,500)
Public Land/Water Access Association ($5,000)
Henry’s Fork Foundation ($2,500)
Utah Stream Access Coalition ($5,000)
South Florida National Parks Trust ($5,000)

The AFFTA Fisheries Fund was established in 2014 with the main objective of funding organisations and projects focused on conservation and education. It is open to donations from AFFTA members and the general public.

In the 2016 AFFTA Fisheries Fund Annual Report, it was revealed that expenses incurred in running the scheme – $77.41 – represented less than one per cent of income. The Fund is open to applications. Details can be found here.
