Global fishing and travel magazine to launch in May

Issue 1 of Fishing & Travel will be launched in May and the magazine will be published quarterly. Its mix of new global fishing destinations and advice on high-end tackle is designed to appeal to an international audience of hardcore anglers.

Other businesses that will benefit from exposure to the magazine’s readership, according to the publishers, include fishing lodges, tourist boards and specialist travel agencies plus online tackle retailers and local charter boat companies.

Editor Julien Lajournade said: “The launch of Fishing & Travel offers an enticing audience to fishing tackle brands in all sectors. I know from my trips abroad writing for Voyages de Pêche that there is an enormous appetite amongst travelling anglers for a global title in the English language.

In France, Voyages de Pêche has earned a powerful reputation over almost 20 years for offering advice on new destinations, and the tackle needed to fish them. Commercial Manager Valérie Mokhazni added: “We already have subscribers from across Europe and the rest of the world but there are limits to the appeal of a magazine in the French language. “The market is clearly ready for an English version. For our advertisers it will pull in readers from US, Canada, Australia, UK, Scandinavia and of course all other territories where English is understood well as a second language. It has enormous potential.”
