With 52 years of experience as a top fly fishing casting instructor, journalist and product designer, Italian Antonio Pozzolini has a new brand to introduce to the industry, which he has high hopes for.

The charismatic Italian has worked in varying capacities in the industry for almost his entire life, with the last 24 years being dominated by working for Pozo. But this year, Antonio made the bold decision to sell his shares in Pozo and go it alone – setting up his company, Pozzolini Fly Fishing.

“My idea and reason for this was because I want to be able to continue to produce fly fishing products that reflect my ‘no compromise’ philosophy in line with a technical approach,” Antonio explains. The mainstay of the Pozzolini product range is certainly the rods, which are the result of Antonio’s long fishing and casting experience – the new series comes in two, three and four sections, which cover almost all fishing needs. One standout item is the ICT3 (Italian Casting Technique), a three-section rod expressly designed for Italian-style high-speed casting with short rods and light lines. For travelling fishermen, the brand has a four-section lightweight travel rod in the shape of the TC4 and for predator fishermen it has the AC4.

“All these rods are four sections and complete with double tip, which ensures trouble-free fishing in the most remote locations,” explains Antonio. “The entire series is built with the latest generation of graphite composite and the exclusive HDP ( Hi-Density-Process ) technology for lighter , responsive, fast and strong rods.”

To be able to offer the most competitive price, Pozzolini will be distributing directly to the dealers. After becoming one of the leaders on the Italian market, Antonio is now ready to expand his business, looking for new dealers all over the world.
