Scientific Anglers delivers Spey Lite collection

Scientific Anglers dealers have recently taken stock of the line manufacturer’s new Spey Lite collection. Described by the maker as ‘Spey on a smaller scale’, the new lines are designed for light, double-handed rods and recommended for smaller streams and trout Spey applications.

The selection comprises an Integrated Scandi, an Integrated Skagit and a Skagit Shooting Head.

Built in grain weights from 150-360, each Spey Lite line provides unparalleled casting and line control, and when paired with its TC Tips or brand-new SONAR Sinking Leaders, two-handed fishing will never be the same, says the Michigan manufacturer. The Spey Lite Integrated Scandi has a longer head for more delicate deliveries and can also be used with single-handed rods. The Spey Lite Integrated Skagit has an ultra-short head for turning over heavy tips. It comes with tip recommendation of: 150-210 grains for SONAR leaders, 240-300 grains for 8-foot TC tips and 330-360 grains for 8 or 10-foot TC tips. They can also be used with single-handed rods.

These 10-foot leaders attach to the end of a fly line and can put your fly anywhere in the water column. With five different densities, each weighing in at 50 grains, you’ll be able to cover the surface to the depths. They are recommended as ideal for single-handed lines as well as light, double-handed lines. The leaders are built on 25-lb monofilament and have a welded loop on the butt end.
