Adrian Bontza, Coordinator of the Open German Championship in Fly Tying, says thank you:

Dear fly fishers and fly tyers,

Thanks to all who joined in and sent flies to the 2017 (10th) Open German Championship in Fly Tying. The fly tying championship was most successful in this, its 10th anniversary year. I received great, top quality flies all of which required much effort on the part of their tyers. Ultimately, so many arrived that I was not able to respond personally to each submitting fly tyer, so I am using this opportunity to thank all of you now.

In the words of one participant who sent in two flies for the first time, “Participating is everything.” Whether a winner or not, I hope you all stick to your hobby and perhaps we will see each other at next year’s EWF.

Yours,
Adrian Bontza
Coordinator of the Open German Championship in Fly Tying
