The Gaula experiences a start of the season like it has not had for a long time. The average weight of the salmon that are caught is extremely high and the chances of hooking and landing a really large fish are exceptional too. On the first two days of the season fish of 23,1 and 21 kilogram in weight were landed, both on the fly! In total some 90 salmon were landed on the first day, te ten largest fish had an average weight of 15,88 kilogram!

Even if the conditions were far from perfect on the NFC stretches on the Gaula, some exciting fish were landed here too. Manuel Plösser landed the first fish f the season after an exciting fight, the fish had a weight of 13,5 kg and was safely returned after a quick photo. Manuel laned his second fish that same evening in Beat E1, a fish with a weight of 12,8 kg.
