“STM is well into its sixth year of digital publication and it really showing signs of a mature, still growing magazine,” says publisher Don Kirk. “Since its launch we have had almost six million views from readers in all fifty states and 133 countries. Interest in fly fishing for trout in the South has never been as high as it is today.”

STM is a bimonthly that covers all aspects of fly fishing for trout and smallmouth bass from the Mason-Dixon south to Atlanta.

Its sister title, Southern Trout “Ozark Edition” is also a bimonthly. It covers fly fishing for trout and bass in the Ozark region. Southern Saltwater Fly Fishing that launched last January covers fly fishing from the Chesapeake to Galveston as well as the Caribbean to Central America.

Following the Aug/Sept and Oct/Nov issues of Southern Trout Magazine, Kirk will transition from the dual duties of publisher/editor to that of publisher. North Georgia native Bob Borgwat will assume the editorial of the magazine.

“We’ve enjoyed fast growth since starting up in 2012,” says Kirk. “Associate publisher Jerry Davis and I are already working on the launches of our next trio of digital titles that will be southern lifestyle oriented publications. Personally, I am excited to know that Bob Borgwat will be on board to put his always interesting personality in the next phase of Southern Trout.”
