Angling trade show EFTTEX 2019 will take place in Brussels.
After an absence of five years EFTTEX 2019 will return to Brussels, the 3rd time in its history. The decision was taken at a recent EFTTA Board meeting. The Belgian city has been chosen to host the 38th edition of the European Fishing Tackle Trade Exhibition. Other venues that tendered included Prague (Czech Republic), Helsinki (Finland), Vienna (Austria), Madrid (Spain), Rimini (Italy) and the two German options Hannover and Nuremberg. EFTTEX 2019 will take place during June 13th to 15th 2019.
Janet Doyle, EFTTA’s General Manager, confirmed “we’re returning to Brussels in 2019 because EFTTA is gaining significant recognition at EU level and between now and 2019 we expect to continue raising the profile of recreational fishing giving us even greater strength in the projects that we are lobbying for. Choosing Brussels over the other venues that tendered feels like the right choice for that reason. This way we can show MEP’s how important our industry is by hosting EFTTEX in the same city as the EU Parliament and Commission. Financially too, both times we’ve been to Brussels the show made significant profits and EFTTA has been able to invest these profits back into our lobbying projects”.
Brussels is regarded a popular city because of its central location, excellent transport links and its proximity to many of Europe’s strongest angling markets. Based on past shows at the Brussels Expo, exhibitors can expect a high visitor turn-out. The Belgian capital last played host to the showpiece in 2014 when there were over 247 companies exhibiting from over 41 countries with over 6440 sqm sold.
EFTTEX 2018 will take place in Amsterdam and exhibitors will be able to book their stands during EFTTEX 2017 in Budapest (29th June – 1st July 2017). Stand bookings will open up to the industry again in October 2017. The popularity of EFTTEX proves how important the show is for the industry.
