Vedavoo releases line-up new and updated products

US fly fishing accessories manufacturer, Vedavoo, has released its line-up for 2018 which includes several new products and updated versions of old favourites. All are, says the Leominster, Massachusetts-based company, characterised by simpler and more durable designs aimed at improved comfort for the angler.

This is underlined in its sling packs which boast a redesigned shoulder harness to reduce fatigue. They are longer and more naturally curved and do not have a buckle that could rub on the collarbone. Also, a side release buckle has been added as a second layer of security over pouch closures and a sturdy, integrated loop is now on the face of the pouch for quick attachment to the improved ARC Accessories, which includes the ARC Tippet Pack, ARC Fly Patch and ARC Plier Pack.

The new ARC Tippet Pack has been designed to wrap over and around your wading belt, pack strap, wader straps and bars in a boat.

The lay-out of the slings has been simplified with more intuitive tool anchors and pouch pockets, designed to keep gear within easy reach. The Daypacks and Messengers now feature vinyl bases for improved protection against water and durability. Gusseted flap closures also improve protection from rain or snow and the dual buckle flap has been streamlined to make access to the main compartment less cumbersome. Side stretch pockets are now built with double-layered stretch fabric for greater durability. Compression has also been optimised.

ARC Accessories are more versatile and easier to use with a double fold design that cuts the overall footprint in half, while delivering a more secure base for attached gear. You can wrap them over a belt, around pack straps, wader harness straps or mount them to the face of one of Vedavoo’s packs with an ARC design. It is also easy to change from fresh to saltwater.

Vedavoo’s wallets and pouches now boast simpler styling and a more user-friendly lay-out. An example of this is the Fly Wallet, which is wider to better protect streamers and slightly shorter to fit all its packs. Weighing 3.6oz, it retains two internal pockets to accommodate heads, leaders and other gear.

Its Pinch Pouches have been improved with a better curved design that prevents gear getting stuck in corners. Vedavoo has said goodbye to some long-term favourites. The Tightlines Light and Tightlines Delux have been replaced with the all-new Tightlines Sling. This is cleaner, simpler and more comfortable.

Two separate rod carriers have been replaced with a single Rod Quiver, designed to carry a four-piece of wider sizes in lengths of up to 10 ft.

The Hip Pack Deluxe is now a thing of the past following the introduction of the new, simpler $10 Hip Pack.

The company added that in the first quarter of next year it will be releasing more new items, including other specialised packs, the culmination of the latest Reel Service Project in aid of the Healing Waters initiative, and the new Vedavoo MAINstream collection.
