Jean-Claude Bel (above left) is stepping back in his role as CEO of EFTTA but is not retiring. He will be focusing more on working with the European Anglers Alliance (EAA) in Brussels and other matters affecting the European trade but will not be travelling overseas.

After almost ten years in the role, he had considered retirement in the approach to the 2017 EFTTEX in Budapest. However, he remains committed to causes critical to the industry. “I have asked the Board to step back into a ‘part-time’ job,” Jean-Claude told Angling International. “I remain CEO but I do not wish to travel overseas any more. I prefer to concentrate on various European issues such as working with the EAA in Brussels and other European matters that are good for the visibility and the promotion of EFTTA and EFTTEX.”

Jean-Claude has been a regular visitor to shows all over the world, including China Fish and ICAST, where he worked with the EFTTA team to build relationships, recruit exhibitors for the show and grow EFTTA’s profile.

Jacques Prallet (above right) will now represent EFTTA overseas. Jacques is the former Director General of Pure Fishing Europe and has recently been involved in EFTTA project work. Prallet retired from the Board at the association’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) in Budapest after more than a decade of service. He was replaced by Grant Harris, the head of Pure Fishing’s European business.
