The Bavarian firm Traun River Products recently added two new fly-reels to her already impressive line up of products for the fly-fisher and fly-tier.
The new Drop fly-reel features a cork-teflon drag system that is finally adjustable, the large arbour spool adds to the speed with which the line can be retrieved on the reel and makes for less memory in the fly-line. The Drop is made from aluminium that is anodised and stands the test of time along the waterside.
The CNC milling in the form of drops reduces the weight of the reel and fits the element of water.
The Drop reel is delivered in a neoprene bag for the best protection against a price that is more than interesting. There are three models in the range for line-classes #3/4, 5/6 and 7/9 that will hold a WF fly-line and from 75 up to 200 yards of backing. RRP from € 119,50 up to € 129,50.
The Freestone fly-reel features a full frame which makes this a very sturdy reel. The carbon drag-system is saltwater proof and can produce a lot of power.
The modern CNC milling ensures optimal stability and durability. The reel is also fully anodised and looks most elegant.
The large arbour Freestone fly-reel is also delivered in a neoprene bag. There are two models in the range so far, the #5-8 will hold a WF7F and 200 yards of 30 lb backing. The #8-10 holds a WF9F and 300 yards of 30 lbs backing. RRP from € 119,50 up to € 229,00.
