“I’ve been fishing at Walthamstow for around five years now and what I really love about it is the Trout fishing it provides all year round…in the winter it offers excellent sport on a cold crisp day and in the summer the evening rise can be phenomenal! Like-wise the Autumn provides lots of sport with fly imitations and the spring is great for buzzer fishing.
It’s also in zone 3 next to Tottenham Hale station so extremely accessible! Walthamstow Fly-fishers Club also gives a sense a great community on the water with members willing to give plenty of advice and help when needed.”
Thornwood Springs – 12th April with Orvis UK
On April 12th, outdoor lifestyle brand Orvis UK will be hosting a campaign launch at Thornwood Springs (easily accessible on the central line from London to Epping), to celebrate their 50 50 on the water campaign. This Orvis led initiative will strive to create an equal split of fishermen and fisherwomen on the water by 2020. Orvis will educate, encourage and inform in order to improve women’s accessibility to and involvement with the sport.
The event will run from 11.00am to 3.00pm and will include a BBQ lunch of delicious Venison Burgers. Tickets are £30 and can be purchased by contacting lara@zambuni.com.
