In a joint collaboration between Morakniv® design team and design agency No Picnic, Morakniv® outdoor knives Eldris, Kansbol, and Garberg stand as winners in this year’s iF DESIGN AWARD – with over 6400 entries in the competition in total.
The design and functionality of the three popular Morakniv® outdoor knives, released as a series in 2016, won the hearts of the 63-member jury, consistent of independent experts from all over the world. The competition was intense: over 6,400 entries were submitted from 54 countries.
”The awarded series of knives has had a huge impact on the market and is proof of what good and hard work can result in. Each one of the three knives target different usage and experiences within the outdoors. The series of knives has stretched our range and added new functions and possibilities for our users while still being in line with the Morakniv® identity where simplicity and function are key factors”, says Arvid Larsson, Product and Production Development Manager at Morakniv®.
The two latter ones are compatible with the innovative Multi-Mount fastening system so they’re accessible whether fixed to your boat, snowmobile or backpack.
The renowned design prize is handed out each year by the world’s oldest independent design organization: iF International Forum Design. The winning outdoor knives, Eldris, Kansbol and Garberg won the product discipline in the Outdoor, Sports & Leisure category.

A Morakniv is always made in Mora, in our factory in the village of Östnor, where it’s been located for centuries. We have control over the entire production, as we are carrying out each step of the process ourselves. Making extremely good knives is a complicated process, and during the last 125 years we have a learnt a great deal about how we can do it to get the best possible results. Every step in the process, from the start in the pressing hall to the finishing line in dispatch, has a unique role. We constantly evaluate the different production stages and look at how we can be even better and more efficient.
