The new Emergence Combo from US brand, KastKIng, includes a four-piece graphite rod, fly reel with line, fly fishing tools, twelve hand-tied flies and a carry case.

KastKing, part of the Eposeidon company in Long Island, New York, has launched the combo to help introduce people to fly fishing, says CEO Tate Cui. “We are happy to open the door to fly fishing to those who have thought of trying it, but were turned off by the high costs associated with fly fishing and the complexities of selecting the right tackle combination,” he said.

“Although there are other entry level fly fishing combos on the market, many tend to be low quality. Once again, we have stayed within our mission statement of ‘Affordable Innovation’. Anglers at any level should not consider the low, affordable cost as representing low quality tackle. Just the opposite is true.”
The rod in the Emergence Combo is designed for easy casting, with a medium fast action, while the reels are lightweight aluminium, large arbor models size-matched for balance with each line weight rod.

The reels are pre-spooled with KastKing Propel weight-forward floating line with a tapered leader already attached. The 12 flies are hand-tied and include popular dry flies, nymphs and streamers. “The Emergence Combo takes the guesswork out of what to select to go fly fishing,” said KastKing CMO, Tom Gahan.
