Winners of German Open Fly Tying Championship announced at EWF

On the second day of the Experience the World of Fly Fishing, the winners of the German Open Fly Tying Championship 2018 were announced at the show. With 127 entries from twelve countries, this was a truly international competition.

The best three in the category “Dry Flies” were:
1. Györfi Zsolt, Rumania, 582 points;
2. Marcos Prado Gentil, Spain, 579 points;
3. Martin Weidisch, Germany, 542 points.

The winners in the category for the “Streamers” were:
1. Jürgen Bartsch, Germany, 321 points;
2. Jens Kilian, Germany, 304 points
2. Bodo Hoffmann, Germany, 304 points.
So here we see two tiers with the same number of points!

In the category of the “Realistic Flies” the best three were:
1. Juan Carlos Cambronero González, Spain, 328 points;
2. Joaquin Lopez Quintas, Spain, 325 points;
3. Alfons Schefhold, Germany, 319 points.
