Scierra takes fishing videos to a whole new level

When the marketing people at Svendsen Sport brand Scierra wanted to demonstrate the strength of its new X-Stretch waders, they decided to film them being tested to the extreme by what they described as three of the most ‘badass’ soldiers they could find.

Using a fully functioning military base just outside the Danish capital of Copenhagen, the chosen trio donned the four-way stretchable waders and put them through the most demanding of tests – an army assault course.

The film of their challenge – a far cry from the run-of-the-mill fishing promotional videos – went live last week and proved an instant hit. Svendsen Sport Marketing Manager Ken Bloch-Frederiksen told Angling International: “We wanted to do something totally different that demonstrated the outstanding performance of the waders.

“The video stemmed from an idea from one of our employees, who is a former soldier. He felt it was an ideal and novel way of achieving our objective. “The film was produced totally in-house – an outstanding example of the talent we have within the company. “This is only the start and we will look to make similar funny, out of the ordinary videos that have a serious message and create attention in the market. Svendsen Sport stands for innovation and being different.”
