Bauer Reel Company completes relocation to Winston HQ

The Bauer Reel Company, which was acquired by R.L. Winston in 2016, has now relocated to Winston’s headquarters in Twin Bridges, Montana.

“All assembly and repairs are now fully integrated into our factory here,” said Jeff Evans, the new General Manager of Bauer.

The move is the latest in what has been a very eventful year for Winston on the eve of its 90th anniversary in 2019. Scott Forristall was appointed President and CEO in March, Evans joined Bauer in June and Winston took its first step into the saltwater fly rod category. The company subsequently won the Visitors’ Choice award for its SALT AIR at EFTTEX in Amsterdam, followed by the best freshwater fly rod award for its PURE model at the IFTD show in Orlando.

In addition, the US manufacturer is also ramping up its strategy to grow its footprint in Europe after that successful first appearance at EFFTEX in June. “The excitement continues after the two trade shows, with our new rods now on the way to dealers,” said Jim Murphy, Vice President of  Winston and Bauer. “We have increased production to meet the new demand and can usually ship on the day of the order. “Bauer reels are also fully stocked and we are busy getting them to dealers. This really is Winston’s time,” he added.
