HISWA Dutch in-water Boat Show – for everyone who loves watersports!

From the 5th until the 9th of September in Lelystad.

The 35th edition of the HISWA Dutch in-water Boat Show, which takes place at the Bataviahaven port in Lelystad from 5 to 9 September, promises to be a memorable experience. Under the motto ‘I love watersports’, the Bataviahaven will be transformed into a Walhalla for all watersport fans. In addition to viewing the 270 new boats on display – 80 of which will be making their show debut – and a wide range of watersport-related products, visitors will be treated to a wide-ranging programme of activities.

“The Bataviahaven Lelystad port is ideal for a watersport event,” says director Arjen Rahusen. “The new options in terms of sea trials, the excellent parking facilities and the location directly on the Markermeer lake have proven especially popular among exhibitors. I am proud that we will be welcoming more exhibitors to this first edition in Lelystad than we did last year in Amsterdam!”

HISWA Boat of the Year Award
For the first time in its history, the HISWA Boat of the Year Award will be presented at the HISWA Dutch in-water Boat Show itself. The winners will be announced by the expert jury on Wednesday, the first event day, as part of the opening ceremony which begins at midday. The list of nominees for the sailboat category includes the Aira 22, Domani S30 and Saffier Se37. The motorboat category features the Hermes Speedster, Keizer 42 and Van Vossen 800 SP Runabout. The nominees were selected after careful consideration by the jury of watersport journalists from Dutch and Belgian watersport magazines. The selection is based on the design, construction, innovative character and price/quality ratio of the vessels.

Great atmosphere and plenty of activities
Superb views of the vessels in the marina and the various activities will be available from all locations and terraces on the Arena-shaped quay. A new feature for the 2018 show is the sea trial option, made possible by the location on the Markermeer. Various exhibitors are offering this unique chance to help visitors make the perfect choice.
Visitors seeking even more action can participate in the fast-sailing clinic organised by Motorboot Magazine, boat trips with the KNRM or engine manoeuvring clinics hosted by Zeezeilers. The Optimist On Tour, one of the fixed elements of the event, will also be returning this year, introducing the youngest visitors to sailing, SUPing and canoeing.
More advanced sailors can register for the Next Step course by sailing school Pean or even match racing with Tirions of Sail-a-way. Those who prefer to stay on land can enjoy the lovely terraces on the quays, participate in fin workshops, listen to great stories and lectures, and enjoy live music at the Theatre on the Water.
