New records set for number of fish caught during a fly-fishing competition in the Netherlands!
On Sunday the 9th of September the fourth competition for the Dutch Championship Fly-Fishing 2018 was fished on the River Merwede between Woudrichem and Sleeuwijk. The draw was at 06.30 hours in the morning, the last competition session ended at 18.30 hours! Large numbers of fish were caught, mainly small, but some goodsized ide and asp showed up in the catches too. The final will be fished in October, the competition is organised by the Dutch Federation of Fly Fishers (VNV) and Sportvisserij Nederland.
