The Swedish maker of the Icross, the groundbreaking craft that made its debut at this year’s EFTTEX, has secured a major distribution deal that will see it being sold across Europe and Scandinavia.

The UK-based canoe and kayak manufacturer, Riber Products, will handle sales of the Icross, which has been described as a ‘game changer’ for the way it sits between a belly boat and a kayak. The deal was first brokered when representatives of the two companies met at a country fair earlier this year.

Icross Flyfishing CEO and founder Adam Westerman told Angling International: “Teaming up with a large company that has 40 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution allows us to concentrate on promoting the brand across Europe.” In collaboration with Riber Products, Icross has added new colours to the range and they will be premiered at the Paddle Expo in Nuremburg, Germany, next month alongside the original.

Westerman said: “I am really looking forward to the show and getting the Icross in front of many highly influential decision makers in the watersports market. From there we will build on the work we have already done in Scandinavia, creating as much awareness as possible.” Formed less than two years ago, Icross Flyfishing has enjoyed a highly successful 2018, more than doubling sales. ‘The future looks really exciting,” added Westerman.
