In September, S&TC Scotland’s footage and images showing the devastation caused to wild fish by high numbers of sea lice from local fish farms helped to take the numerous issues of Scottish open-net salmon farming mainstream. Along with other campaigners and their footage, S&TC Scotland was featured on BBC One’s The One Show, which you can view below or watch on their Facebook page.
The show reports on the high sea lice numbers in Loch Roag in July, the devastating effect on farmed and wild fish, and the shocking disposal of thousands of mortalities in open pits; before culminating in a discussion of industry issues and the drastic need for tighter and tougher salmon farming regulation.
