Snowbee UK has pulled out of the sea fishing market as it concentrates on forthcoming ‘massive’ new developments within its core fly fishing business.
Russell Weston, the company’s Managing Director, told Angling International that falling sales of its quality gear within the saltwater sector, allied to big plans for the fly fishing market, were the main reasons for the decision.
“We have some exciting new developments in fly rods that will be launched in February that will need a big investment,” he said. Snowbee was founded as a fly fishing brand in 1978 and currently enjoys distribution of its products in more than 30 countries across the globe.
This year Snowbee USA made its debut at IFTD, the US fly fishing trade show, within ICAST, and plans to follow that with another appearance at the event in Denver, Colorado in 2019, as it attempts to gain a foothold in the North American market. “There is such a great deal happening within our fly business that we felt it best to focus on a successful operation that is growing,” added Weston.
