POWERFLEX WIRE BITE TIPPET
RIO’s Powerflex Wire Bite Tippet is a tough, flexible nylon-coated wire that’s perfect for those sharp toothed critters. This knottable braided wire is supple enough to tie directly to the fly. Available in three size options; 20lb, 30lb & 40lb, with 15 feet on each spool.
IDEAL FOR TOOTHY CRITTERS
The most common use of wire bite tippet is to protect your leader when fishing for sharp toothed fish like pike, musky, bluefish and barracuda.The wire is very supple and easy to tie your regular fishing knots in.
We recommend the non slip loop knot for giving the best fly action underwater.
INTRUDER WIRE
If you tie your own flies, particularly the “intruder” style, (or in fact any fly with a stinger hook), try using RIO’s Powerflex wire bite tippet for the hook connector. The wire is stiff enough to hold the hook up, is extremely tough and abrasion resistant, and very easy to work with.
It is also very easy to change a hook, utilizing the stiffness of the wire to push the hook against when it is time to change.
