Ross Reels, the US-based award-winning fly fishing reel manufacturer, has picked up another prestigious accolade. It has been selected for a 2019 Colorado Manufacturing Award (CMA) in the Outstanding Outdoor Industry Brand category in recognition for ‘excellence and innovation’ across the State. It is the second time it has been honoured – in 2017 it was named the winner in the Consumer and Lifestyle category.
“We are thrilled to be recognised for a second time by the CMA for our outstanding products and brand,” said David Dragoo, President of Ross Reels. “We have dedicated significant time and effort to create ‘made in Colorado’ products that represent the outstanding people committed to innovative manufacture in Montrose.”
Mayfly Outdoors, parent company of Ross Reels, recently moved into a new 41,000 sqft facility as part of Montrose’s Colorado Outdoors project, a community-minded development. Not only does the company manufacture world-renowned products, but the brand is also supportive of the community and outdoor industry through local conservation efforts in Montrose.
In December, Mayfly donated more than $800,000 in property back to its home city, which included nearly 1.5 miles of riverfront land and about 1.8m sqft of wildlife and fishing habitat.
