Hosted by Sunriver Anglers, this outing was sponsored by Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, a national organization founded on the simple premise that fly fishing helps heal the wounded body, mind, and soul of disabled active duty and veteran personnel.
Three Northern California Veterans join three Central Oregon Veterans spanning three military campaigns … Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan.Their “Three Perfect Days of Healing” are just the beginning of a new tribe of comrades who find new friends on the water and a profound impact on their lives.
“For the first time, I was able to open up about my struggles and some of the afflictions left from spending the majority of life in the service I was able to let go of a few things and realize that all Soldiers have some of the same issues, and they don’t need to be alone in their struggles. Project Healing Waters pays tribute to Veterans and Soldiers who have served our country faithfully for over 250 years … multiple generations that defended us in the best and worst of times.”
