The HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show will no longer be held at the RAI Amsterdam. The reason for this decision are the changes in the market and the requests by participating stand holders for one, strong water sports event in the Netherlands. In March of this year the 65th edition was held and with that the final HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show. With pain in their heart RAI Amsterdam says goodbye to this iconic event for the water sport.

The decision to stop with HISWA comes from a changing water sport world. Fewer people own a boat these days, a trend that is expected to stay in the coming years. This resulted in the last few years in changes in the offerings at the show and reductions in the number of visitors at the show. Another reason is a question by participating stand holders. Almost 50% of the stand holders takes part in both the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show as well as the Hiswa te Water. A large number of companies have said that this is too large an investment in marketing.

HISWA te Water

By ending the HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show, more space will be available for the HISWA te Water in Lelystad, which is organised by HMM Exhibitions. Brand owner of the shows, association HISWA-RECRON, supports this decision as it is of importance to the water sport as a whole.

RAI Amsterdam would like to thank all the water sport companies and water sports enthusiast that have visited the show in all those years. The HISWA Amsterdam Boat Show was truly the start of the water sports season in that era.
