Former Nike exec joins fly fishing and outdoor products retailer

The former vice president for global apparel at Nike has been appointed Chief Product Officer at Orvis, the fly fishing and outdoor products retailer.

 

The former vice president for global apparel at Nike has been appointed Chief Product Officer at Orvis, the fly fishing and outdoor products retailer.

 

Reenie Benziger (above) will oversee all product-related functions and merchandising strategy across all categories at the third generation, family-owned company, with particular focus on men’s and women’s apparel. She will also lead the collaboration between the product design, development, sourcing and planning teams as the Vermont, US business continues to develop consumer-centric products.

 

Leadership experience

Benziger will play a significant role in identifying growth opportunities for Orvis’ lifestyle business and sustainable product solutions. She has more than 20 years senior leadership experience in the apparel industry, working at Pac Sun and Gap before Nike. Her position at Orvis becomes effective from January 11, 2021. Orvis, the oldest mail-order retailer in the US, has 70 domestic stores and 18 in the UK.
