Slow, canal-like flows attract deep sediment deposits blanketed with ribbon weed and algae, so the prospect of an improved fly-fishing experience with streaming flows and trout rising between beds of flowering Water-crowfoot (Ranunculus), finally tipped the balance in favour of change.
