Sean Kyne, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment, gives statutory notice of his intention to make the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Amendment) Regulations, 2017 to provide for the management of the wild salmon and sea trout fishery by Inland Fisheries Ireland from 1st January 2018.

Salmon farming has done ‘enormous harm’ to fish and environment, warns Jeremy Paxman

There are now 250 salmon farms on the western coast of Scotland, but the surge has coincided with a collapse in the number of wild salmon in the area.

Big improvement on the Moy system

The Moy system produced over 200 salmon for the week bringing the yearly total, so far, to 571. It was the best week of the year so far and good catches were reported throughout the system with the Moy Fishery beats and the middle reaches fishing best.
