Casting with Konnetic HD Technology

The SAGE Salt HD fly-rod was a recent winner at the EFTTEX trade show and it has won other prices in the USA too for good reason.
The rod comes with a black rod bag with grey logo and a blue powder coated aluminium rod tube.

During a recent trip to Ireland, with a daily wind force five to seven along the coast, I was able to gather some first experiences with a nine foot model for a line class #7 of the new SAGE Salt HD range. Due to its thin diameter and fast action I was still able to straighten the line against the wind or with a wind from the side and reach the distances I wanted to cover. The fly-rod has a fast action but still has a lot of ‘feel’ to it.

I tested the SAGE Salt HD with WF7F RIO Single Spey and RIO Gold fly-lines and with these lines the rod felt well in balance and capable of easy and comfortable casting.

The Konnetic HD Technology blanks have a dark squid ink colour, all rods in the Salt HD range are four piece.

Later this month I will make a visit to the Danish peninsula of Møn again, I am looking forward to test the fighting capabilities of this rod against the large seatrout that surround the peninsula!
