Costa celebrates 35th anniversary with beach clean-ups

Costa Sunglasses, a major supplier of eyewear to anglers across the world, is celebrating its 35th anniversary by hosting clean-up operations on 35 beaches across the US.

“We were born on the water, so it makes sense for us to celebrate this milestone protecting what we love,” said Holly Rush, Costa CEO. “Since 1983, Costa has been committed to conservation and preservation of our most precious assets – our oceans and waterways. “Our team was excited to kick-off our anniversary with a beach clean-up on International Coastal Clean-up Day in our home town of Daytona Beach, Florida, where 120 people collected more than 150lb of trash.”

The collaboration with the Surfrider Foundation expands on Costa’s commitment to Kick Plastic, a campaign launched in 2014. “We are grateful that Costa has decided to celebrate its 35th anniversary through a series of joint beach clean-ups across the country,” said Dr Chad Nelsen, CEO of the Surfrider Foundation. “Initiatives like this not only clean-up the beach, but also raise awareness about the plastic pollution challenges we face. Costa’s support underscores its commitment to clean water and healthy beaches.”
