Scientific Anglers: Xingu Payara

Deep within the Brazilian Amazon, anglers at @xingulodge take on one of the ultimate freshwater predators — the payara. These big toothy fish aggressively attack streamers and test gear as they put on a hard fight and often get air in battle. Scientific Anglers presents some of the first fly fishing video footage available of anglers fishing these waters. The Kapayo people are just now sharing this destination with the angling community, and we proudly present some great footage of anglers taking on payara in the jungle waters of the Rio Xingu.
