Joshua Hutchins – Drifting The Snowy Valleys

FlyLife celebrates 100 issues with Joshua Hutchins.

Joshua Hutchins first appeared in FlyLife Issue 74 with a Postcard article covering his trout adventure in Europe. Having aspired to write for FlyLife for most of his 23 years in fly fishing, Josh’s love affair with fly fishing has developed side by side with almost the entire 25 year life span of FlyLife. Since his first contribution, Josh has contributed twenty four world-class articles and landed an extraordinary nine covers.

In FlyLife’s milestone issue 100, Josh reveals the delights of the Snowy Valley, NSW floating the Tumut and Swampy Plains Rivers. Despite raging bushfires and drought in other parts of New South Wales, these tailwaters remain some of the most resilient trout fishing in the state.

This video interview provides insights into Josh’s origins in fly fishing, his love for the diversity of species and locations and his ongoing relationship as a key contributor to FlyLife.
We hope you enjoy it.

Thanks to Joshua Hutchins for providing the footage for this video and Josh Tredinnick of The Fly Reel, Henry Smith and Kane Chenoweth for additional footage.
