‘Scores’ of jobs created by Humminbird’s second expansion in a year

Award-winning marine electronics brand Humminbird is to expand its Eufala, Alabama plant for the second time this year, creating scores of new jobs in the process.

Work on the 27,400 sqft expansion is scheduled to start before the end of the year. It will be fitted with new equipment and is expected to increase production and assembly space by more than 25%. It follows the 17,000 sqft expansion of Humminbird’s warehouse space earlier this year and will create an estimated 77 new jobs. The jobs will be for assembly workers, technicians and supervisors, as well as in shipping, IT, human resources and technical support.

The plant currently employs 222 full-time and 65 part-time workers. Craig Packard, General Manager of the facility, said: “Humminbird has grown significantly over the last six years and we expect that to continue.”
