Bart Reitsma ties flies at the Bending Feathers show

Because Rob Dings, unfortunately, cannot make the trip to the Bending Feathers fly tying show this coming weekend, Dutchman Bart Reitsma will take his place among the huge number of fly tiers. Bart Reitsma is an enthusiastic fly tier and fly fisher who also showed his skills at the Fly Happening in Putte, Belgium, last weekend.

Bart Reitsma has been introduced to fly fishing and fly tying in the early 90s. It has never let him go. He is an all-rounder and Bart has fished in many countries, but he also fly fishes in the Netherlands for roach, ide, pike and perch. If possible he looks for running water, trout and grayling are his favourites.

When tying flies, he likes variety and he will tie almost anything.

Bart Reitsma especially likes tying functional flies. Flies that catch fish and are easy to tie. He enjoys doing tying demos at fairs and when visiting clubs.

He is not sure yet what he wants to show at the Bending Feathers show, but he thinks he will certainly show the visitors how to twist and hackle different materials.
