The River Tyne With Signature Tyer James Stokoe
Join Fulling Mill Signature Tyer James Stokoe for a day of fly fishing for salmon and seatrout on the River Tyne. In this video, James covers many of the crucial lessons for anyone who wants to learn how to fly fish for salmon and seatrout. He covers his rods and lines, fly selection, reading water and tactics for fishing. James also goes into detail on how to play fish, and how to land them as well. And, perhaps most importantly, James shares his contagious positive spirit, which is absolutely essential for anyone who wants to fish for seatrout and salmon. You can never give up, and you have to keep trying.
James Stokoe is a salmon fishing guide, and has been a salmon fishing fanatic for the past 25 years. He spends his springs and summers guiding on the River Tyne in the Northeast of England. He and his clients catch both salmon and seatrout. The Tyne is a great success story of river restoration, and it now holds a strong and growing population of both seatrout and salmon. This past July alone over 12,000 fish were recorded swiming into the system. James is the designer behind the popular Stokoe Shrimp, and we’re thrilled to have him as part of the Fulling Mill Signature Tyer team.
