A type of fly that we often return to again and again is baitfish imitations. These small imitations of the prey along our waters can either be super-realistic with a bunch of small details, or they can be much simpler, but where the emphasis is on movement and lifelike materials that make the flies “swim” and get the attention perfectly. In this video, we have had the Danish fly fisher and fly tyer – and owner of the shop NordicAnglers.com – Daniel D. Holm behind the vise to tie one of his favourite flies to the fishing for sea run brown trouts on the Danish coasts. A small zonker-winged fly where the rabbit-zonker strip gives the fly a very lively movement in the water – something that most trout cannot resist.
