Annual Edison Fly Fishing Show has all that is new in the sport

Everything new in the sport of fly-fishing – rods, reels, boots, waders, outerwear, fly lines, personal watercraft, and new fly patterns from U.S. and international manufacturers – will be on display for the first time in 2026 at the Edison Fly Fishing Show, January 23-25 in the New Jersey Convention and Conference Center.

Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Fri.; 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Sat; and 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sun. Fly Fishing Show® admission is $20 for one day, $35 for two days and $45 for three days. Children under age 5 are free as are Boy and Girl Scouts under age 16 in uniform. Children 6-12 are $5. Active military with an ID are $10. Parking is free. Among the instructors, seminar leaders or demonstrators are Gary Borger, Mac Brown, Jason Randall, Landon Mayer, George Daniel, Alice Owsley, Jeff Currier, Sheila Hassan, Pat Dorsey, Tim Cammisa, Tom Baltz, Conway Bowman, Tim Flagler, Philip Rowley, Josh Miller and Frank Burr. The show offers continuous seminars, classes, fly tying, casting demonstrations, and theatre presentations.

 

Annual Edison Fly Fishing Show has all that is new in the sport.

 

The three day event has some $95,000 in national door prizes including tackle and trips including Alaska, Patagonia, Iceland, South Africa, and Brazil plus about $10,000 in local door prizes. There are 38 Classes With the Experts including a day-long Advanced Casting Class with Dr. Borger and Brown on Jan. 22 – the day before the show opens – limited to eight students. Tuition is $625; and Practical and Comprehensive Euro Nymphing with Randall and Josh Miller on Jan. 24 with registration $225. All other classes with experts are 2-1/2 hours priced at $100 which includes admission to the show that day. Standard class instructors include Dr. Borger, Glenda Powell, Brown, Randall, Tim Flagler, Rowley, and Daniel. There are 52 free seminars ranging from Trophy Striped Bass on the Fly to What to do When the Bugs Don’t Behave.

Some 126 hour-long Destination Theatre presentations include everything from Bonefishing the South Caicos to Southern California Makos on the Fly. Show attendees may vote on 41 categories of products entered in the “Best Of” Consumer Choice Awards including rods, reels, waders, boots, packs, Polarised eyewear, accessories and apparel. Awards are jointly sponsored by Fly Fusion Magazine and Fly Fishing Journeys. Twenty-two fly casting demonstrations include everything from Casting in the Wind and the Double Haul to Different Rods Different Cast. Fly Fishers International (FFI) hosts the Fly Fishing Learning Center with fly tying, casting instruction and other fly fishing information. There are continuous fly tying demonstrations plus featured fly tiers include Mayer, Pat Dorsey, Tomas Baltz, Son Tao and Joe Cordiero.

The East Coast premiere of the two hour 2026 International Fly Fishing Film Festival is Fri. (1/23) at 6:30. Tickets are $17 in advance or $20 at the door.
