Ken Whelan was in touch to tell IFI that the Atlantic Salmon Trust (AST) has launched a major initiative entitled The Missing Salmon Project. This in an effort to solve the mystery of the Irish missing salmon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Somewhere on their journey, wild salmon numbers are being decimated. For every 100 that leave the Irish rivers for the sea, less than five return \u2013 a decline of nearly 70 per cent in just 25 years.<\/p>\n

Action must be taken on a scale never seen before in order to identify what is happening to wild salmon and determine how to halt this decline.
\nKen is giving a talk on the project,\u00a0hosted by the Buncrana Angling Club, on Friday 10th May at 7pm in the Swan Park, Buncrana, Co. Donegal.<\/p>\n
