Country sports retailer, Farlows, has launched into the fishing clothing sector for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The company, which celebrates its 180th anniversary next year, has collaborated with Hilltrek in Scotland to make its debut in the category with two British-made wading jackets. \u201cThe creation of the Farlows fishing jackets pursues our strategy of sourcing the very best outdoor garments in the UK,\u201d said the collection\u2019s designer and Farlows Brand Manager, Peter Sant. \u201cHilltrek has been crafting performance outerwear for over 30 years and its customer base spans the globe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Farlows Four Season Jacket is created with big river enthusiasts in mind, while the lighter Creek Jacket is designed to be the \u2018go to\u2019 coat for all types of fishing. Both use the same materials. \u201cHilltrek incorporates Cotton Analogy technology, which allows us to select Ventile cotton as our choice of outer layer,\u201d added Sant. \u201cVentile was developed to increase the chances of survival for pilots ditching into the sea in the Second World War and is still in use today for jet fighter pilot jumpsuits. \u201cVentile is coupled with a Nikwax liner that actively pumps moisture away from the body. It\u2019s an extremely durable, weatherproof system.\u201d<\/p>\n

Farlows flagship store in Pall Mall, London, is a place of pilgrimage for anglers and country sports enthusiasts from around the world. Famously granted The Royal Warrant in 1982, Farlows was purchased by Russian oligarch, Vladimir Rybalchenko, in 2013 and has since added stores in St. Petersburg and Moscow. It also owns the Sportfish stores in Hereford.<\/p>\n
