Earlier this week, Pebble executives were caught on camera saying some damning things about their true intentions in Bristol Bay.<\/strong><\/p>\n Now-former\u00a0Pebble Limited Partnership CEO,\u00a0Tom Collier,\u00a0and Northern Dynasty Minerals President, Ron Thiessen, unequivocally\u00a0showed\u00a0their companies’ true intentions:\u00a0that the impacts to Bristol Bay\u00a0from\u00a0Pebble\u00a0will be much larger than proposed in the ongoing permitting process,\u00a0and that they are using politics to advance the project because\u00a0science doesn\u2019t support their proposal.<\/p>\n Tell Congress to investigate Pebble and deny the permit today<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A series of 12 videos, called the Pebble Tapes<\/a>,\u00a0shows executives sharing plans to expand the mine by 180 years and construct additional infrastructure beyond its current proposal; touting permanent storage of massive volumes of mine waste that negate their current mine closure plans; and include details about the company\u2019s coordination with Alaska and federal government officials to influence the permitting process.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n These videos are another reason Pebble\u2019s permit must be denied today.\u00a0<\/strong>Even further, we need Congress to\u00a0investigate Pebble\u2019s actions\u00a0– lying to federal regulators, Congress and the American people cannot be ignored\u00a0amid an ongoing, taxpayer-funded\u00a0permit review process.\u00a0Please write Congress today<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Pebble Tapes show what we\u2019ve\u00a0said\u00a0since the beginning\u00a0of the permitting process: a Canadian mining company with a risky and incomplete plan cannot be trusted to operate in the headwaters of the most prolific sockeye salmon fishery on the planet.
