Dear Bristol Bay supporters,<\/strong><\/p>\n In August, the Army Corps of Engineers told Pebble that\u00a0its\u00a0current plan would\u00a0fail to\u00a0receive\u00a0the\u00a0most important federal permit\u00a0because it didn\u2019t meet Clean Water Act standards. Pebble was\u00a0sent back to the drawing board to\u00a0re-do\u00a0its\u00a0mitigation plan.<\/strong><\/p>\n Today,\u00a0Pebble\u00a0submitted\u00a0a new plan. Unsurprisingly, it\u00a0still\u00a0fails to\u00a0protect Bristol Bay\u00a0from permanent damage.\u00a0Tell decision makers to deny Pebble\u2019s permit today<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pebble\u00a0hasn\u2019t made its plan public\u00a0yet, but here\u2019s what we do know. Pebble’s plan refers to actions they propose to offset the negative impacts of the project on wetlands and streams.\u00a0Regardless of the details of this plan, the project\u00a0will still ruin the world\u2019s greatest wild salmon fishery\u00a0\u2013 no mitigation plan can change that.\u00a0Bristol Bay is so pristine that there aren\u2019t\u00a0places for Pebble to\u00a0try to\u00a0clean up or make better in exchange for permanently destroying critical fish habitat.<\/p>\n Pebble’s new mitigation plan is the latest is a long string of lies by the company. Take action today: tell Congress to deny the permit and investigate the Pebble Limited Partnership<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pebble Limited Partnership had the opportunity to go through the process. The company even got another try, despite the project failing to meet standards the first time. Still, their plans are unacceptable, simply because you can\u2019t mitigate a place as pristine as Bristol Bay.
