A trade park currently under development in the ancient English town of Alnwick, Northumberland, is to be the new home for Pure Fishing brand Hardy\u2019s.<\/strong><\/p>\n Relocation to the 36,000 square feet development, due for completion in Spring next year, allows Hardy\u2019s to stay in the town that has been its home since it was founded in 1872. \u201cAlnwick is a large part of the company\u2019s heritage and this investment, which comes in the 150th anniversary year of the business, means we can retain our local specialist workforce and presence here for many years to come,\u201d said John Henderson. Commercial Director for Pure Fishing (Europe) and Hardy\u2019s Manufacturing Director.<\/p>\n Alnwick Trade Park is well situated less than half a mile from the A1 trunk road and 30 miles north of Newcastle. It comprises six new, purpose-built premises. Other occupiers include Howdens, Wolseley and MKM.<\/p>\n The historic Hardy\u2019s brand has been synonymous with the ancient town since William Hardy set up shop there as gunsmith in 1872. The manufacture of fishing tackle followed two years later.
